I am a senior Biochemistry student at Doane University with a strong academic background in chemistry and related laboratory sciences. Through my coursework, I have developed a solid understanding of general chemistry, analytical chemistry, and biochemistry, along with extensive hands-on experience in laboratory techniques and scientific problem solving. My education has given me both the theoretical foundation and practical perspective needed to help students understand how and why chemistry works.
Most of my tutoring experience has been informal and peer-based rather than part of a formal tutoring program. I have spent several years helping friends and classmates with chemistry homework, exam preparation, and lab reports, primarily in one-on-one or small-group settings. I also served as a teaching assistant for an Analytical Chemistry course, where my role focused on supporting students during labs and helping clarify course material as needed. These experiences have mainly involved working with college-aged students in a collaborative, low-pressure environment.
When I work with students, my goal is to be approachable and flexible, adjusting my explanations to fit how each student learns best. I focus on breaking down challenging concepts into simpler ideas and using examples from my own lab and research experience to make the material feel more relevant and understandable. I am passionate about chemistry and enjoy helping students gain confidence in the subject while developing a stronger understanding of the material.
