As a nurse educator with years of real-world experience and advanced academic training, my goal is to help nursing students build confidence, master complex concepts, and excel in both theory and clinical practice. I know nursing school can be challenging—but with the right guidance, it doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. I currently am an Associate Professor of Nursing with six years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level. I currently teach junior-level nursing students in their first semester, focusing on Medical-Surgical Nursing in both theory and clinical settings. In addition, I provide clinical instruction in Critical Care Nursing. With a strong background in nursing education and hands-on patient care, I enjoy helping students build confidence, strengthen their critical thinking skills, and connect classroom concepts to real-world clinical practice.
My approach to tutoring focuses on creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment where the student can ask questions freely and strengthen their understanding at their own pace. Together, we’ll break down tough topics, develop critical thinking skills, and practice applying your knowledge to clinical scenarios using tools like the NCSBN Clinical Judgment Model. Whether you need help preparing for exams, improving your study strategies, or understanding clinical content, I’ll tailor our sessions to your unique learning style and goals.
With a background that includes medical-surgical, critical care, hospice, and even service as a combat medic in the U.S. Air Force, I bring a wide range of nursing experiences to our tutoring sessions. My academic credentials include a BSN, MSN in Leadership, MBA, and Doctorate in Education—so I know what it takes to succeed at every level of nursing education.

Most importantly, I believe in making learning engaging and approachable. By blending encouragement, clear explanations, and a little humor, I’ll help you feel prepared and confident as you take on the challenges of nursing school.
