Hello everyone! I am an experienced Speech & Debate tutor looking to help people build their knowledge and ability! I have worked as a college Director of Forensics and communication instructor, where I coached students to outrounds at AFA, NFA and Pi Kappa Delta in both debate and individual events. I also currently work as a high school extemp coach for a local public school and full time as a private coach, with students winning state titles in multiple states and advancing to deep outrounds at NIETOC and NSDA. Finally, I write weekly questions and tournament packets for coaches and competitors, including for tournaments such as AFA-NST, NSDA, multiple state championships and NIETOC (where I serve as limited prep question writer and head of extemp prep).

I want to help build competitors and students up, using their unique skillsets, into students who can advocate for themselves and their viewpoints. In Speech and Debate, I focus on fundamentals first, then delivery. I assign homework and provide materials for sessions, including limited prep questions and notes on practice performances. I treat every session like a performance round, because that is the standard a competitor will be asked to perform at.

I have a B.A. in history, with a focus through my undergrad thesis on American foreign policy during the Cold War. I have also remained engaged through my work in high school speech and debate, particularly in current events categories such as Extemporaneous speaking. This event requires extensive knowledge of historical trends and events, as these shape modern actions and opinions that are examined in the event.

Andrew was able to speak well at the level of my 13 yo daughter. They talked about you strengths and weaknesses with understanding what's the overall goal in mind. He was able to discuss with her what fundamentals will need to be addressed and the expectation from the two of them. Great 1st session.
