I recently graduated from the University of North Dakota with dual Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Communication, plus a minor in Substance Use and Addictions. I earned certificates in Behavioral Health, Conflict Mediation, and Health Communication, and was selected as a McNair Scholar, a competitive national program that prepares undergraduates for graduate-level research. Through my academic journey and community work, I developed a passion for helping students of all ages understand complex concepts and build confidence.
I have over four years of teaching experience working with students from elementary age through college level. As a Teaching Assistant at UND, I worked with college students aged 18-25 across multiple psychology courses including Introduction to Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and Honors Research Experiences. I developed exam questions, led lab sections, created study materials, and provided one-on-one tutoring during office hours. I also volunteered as an ESL instructor with Global Friends Coalition, working with immigrant and refugee families including elementary-aged children, helping them develop language skills and confidence. I coached with Special Olympics, working with athletes of varying ages and abilities. These diverse experiences taught me how to adapt my teaching style to different age groups and learning needs.
My research background gives me strong expertise in statistics, SPSS, and research methods. As a research assistant across five psychology labs, I conducted data analysis and presented findings at national conferences. I understand that subjects like psychology, statistics, and study skills can feel overwhelming at any age. My approach focuses on patience, clear explanations, and making learning feel achievable rather than intimidating. Whether you're an elementary student building foundational skills, a high schooler preparing for college, or a college student tackling research methods, I tailor my teaching to meet you where you are and help you succeed.
