I am currently a high school teacher and a former associate professor of foreign language at a small liberal arts university. I have taught Spanish, Italian and Portuguese for over a decade to learners from age 10 to 60. I am a native speaker of Romanian and also have additional proficiency in French, Catalan, German, and Hebrew. I have helped hundreds of students improve their skills, whether for personal enrichment or for professional purposes. In my free time, I love to travel the world and share my interest in languages and cultures.

I learned English as a second language, and I still remember how hard it was at first. I can very easily relate to ESL learners' challenges.

I have an MA in Spanish and Portuguese from the University of Pittsburgh and a Spanish BA from Clark University. Besides my degrees, I hold advanced language certificates in Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian from various European Universities. My approach to teaching starts with carefully listening to each learner's needs and is based upon mutually agreed-upon learning goals. I am extremely flexible in my the teaching methods and I encourage learners to integrate their skills in their daily life as much as possible.
