I am a dedicated future elementary school teacher pursuing dual Bachelor's degrees in Elementary Education and Human Development & Family Sciences at Valley City State University and North Dakota State University. Throughout my practicum experiences at the schools of Fargo and West Fargo, I have directly interacted with K–8 students across all core academic subjects as well as targeted English Language Learner (ELL) support. I have adapted assignments and lessons to WIDA levels of proficiency and collaborated with ELL specialists to help students develop their academic language skills in reading, writing, and speaking.
In addition to my practicum and classroom tasks, I have served as a substitute teacher, experiencing firsthand how to manage diverse classrooms and differentiate instruction in an effort to meet diverse learning needs. I am individualized and patient in my teaching style, focusing on building confidence and a positive learning atmosphere. Working one-on-one or with small groups of students, I work to make learning available and engaging to all learners, especially those gaining English proficiency as well as basic academic skills.
