Hi, my name is Takara and I have over 14 years of experience as an artist and photographer. I received my BFA from Minnesota State University Moorhead and my MFA from Kansas State University, both in the area of Photography. I also earned a M.Ed from North Dakota State University and completed my student teaching at both the elementary and high school levels. At Kansas State, I taught digital photography, 2D design, and drawing as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. Even though my area of focus is photography, I have experience in drawing, design, printmaking, watercolors, and paper making. Not only do I have practical art skills, I'm also knowledgeable in Art history - ancient through contemporary.
I have experience teaching at all levels and ages, from kindergarten to college. Being able to share my knowledge with such a diverse group of students has helped me learn to adjust my approach when teaching. Not all students learn in the same way, and so it's important to be able to adapt to each student's needs. Since understanding is the key to learning, I frequently ask for questions, and if there's anything that needs clarification.
