She is a university graduate with Masters of Management from Cambridge College where she also developed a program to fill in the gaps for English Language Learners. She has taught adults for many years and specializes in preparing them for entering college to fulfill their lifelong dreams. She is the author of the ESL course English in 24 Hours and develops content-based ESL curriculum to ensure that adults receive a more focused, accelerated preparation while they are studying English as a Second Language. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

As a teacher for adults for the past 30 years, Sandy has had to incorporate general computer skills into almost all of her classes, including preparation for college for adults who are returning to classes after many years. Many adults did not have the opportunity to learn basic computer skills in school, as is now the norm, and many have given up their personal computers to others in their household for lack of knowledge in general usage. No matter what your purpose is for computer usage, Sandy is able to help you gain confidence in beginning to use your own computer or one at the public library.
