I am a certified elementary teacher with a B.S. in Elementary Education and History, an M.A. in English Language Learning, and an advanced certification as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant. I have over seven years of experience working with students across grades K–5, including teaching fifth grade, where I supported students in a classroom setting through strengthening reading comprehension, writing, and math skills aligned to Common Core standards, while also helping them build independence and confidence as learners. I am skilled at breaking down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps that help students feel successful and motivated.
I also have five years of experience teaching kindergarten, with a strong focus on early literacy, phonics, and foundational math. My instruction is grounded in Common Core standards and incorporates multisensory reading instruction, including hands-on activities, visual supports, movement, and structured phonics strategies to meet the diverse needs of young learners. I believe early learning should be both structured and engaging, and I strive to create lessons that build strong academic foundations while fostering a love of learning.
In addition, I spent two years working as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant, where I supported students, parents, and teachers in the academic instruction of students with specific learning needs. In this role, I helped interpret evaluations, develop individualized instructional strategies, and ensure appropriate accommodations and supports were in place.
