Hi, thank you for reading my profile! I am a recent graduate of Virginia Tech and am currently searching for tutoring positions that fit my qualifications. I have known I wanted to go into education since I was in middle school, but I could never decide the subject. After taking Latin in high school, I decided to pursue Classics as a major during my undergraduate career. As a Classics graduate, I am highly confident in my abilities to translate Latin and Ancient Greek. Additionally, the classes I took on the ancient world and its languages, arts, and histories imbued me with a respect for different perspectives and worldviews in different cultures. Soon after starting college I added a Religion and Culture major, which eventually became a dual degree. Through my career in Religion and Culture, I took many classes on religion and its affect on art, literature, and the modern world in general. My focus was in early Christianity, roughly the first 500 years or so. I have taken classes on Judaism, Christianity, and Islam as well as classes solely focusing on Christian orthodoxy and heresy as well as depictions of Jesus in apocryphal texts.

In addition to my academic career, I served as a Teaching Assistant for both the beginning Latin and the beginning Ancient Greek classes at Virginia Tech. I created quizzes, graded them, and taught the class as often as possible. My experience with this position emboldened my goals of becoming a teacher, and I think tutoring is just as good a start.

Throughout my college career, I was constantly enrolled in at least one Latin class and one Ancient Greek class, ranging from the 1000 level to the 4000 level. I have read Virgil, Ovid, Catullus, and Horace in Latin. In Ancient Greek, I have taken classes on New Testament Greek, along with ancient tragedies and epics (including The Iliad and The Odyssey).

I have written numerous papers at the college level. At the moment, I am working on a research paper concerning the characterization of Mary Magdalene in the early Chu

I earned my B.A.F.L. in Classical Studies from Virginia Tech in May 2020. Throughout my undergraduate career, I enrolled and excelled in many classes on numerous topics pertaining to the ancient world, including history, art, and language (Latin AND Ancient Greek), as well as classes on the role and status of women and other marginalized groups in classical civilizations.
Religion

Religion

Along with my Classics degree, I also earned my bachelors degree in Religion and Culture from Virginia Tech in May 2020. While my focus was usually on early Christianity, the core classes of my major introduced me to many new, interesting worldviews and perspectives. I took many classes concerning apocalyptic traditions in various religions, death and dying in various cultures around the world, and Christian orthodoxy and heresy.
