Excellent, personable Public School Math Teacher

I have been a tutor for multiple agency's and a teacher in Brooklyn, NY; Long Island NY; and since 2011 a proud member of the sunshine state right here in the Treasure Coast! I have taught a variety of grade levels from Pre-K through 8th grade math but my passion is math. I have 2 sons ages 10 and 18 that live with me. We have 2 dogs, an African Dwarf Frog, 8 hens and a rooster named Joey. I love to go air boating in the marsh, riding ATV's, and camping. I began teaching in 2001 and could not imagine doing anything else. I love my students, co-workers and my job. I really enjoy tutoring because it is one on one and if you're hiring me you must want to learn as much as I want to teach. I have a simplistic way of looking at math and explain things very well. Most students hate math before being in my class. By the time they leave they don't mind math, some even love it. The best thing I hear is, "Wow, that's it? That was so easy. I get it!"

I have been teaching for 19 years. I am funny and have a great personality. I relate the math to what my student already knows or is interested as much as I can. I currently teach Algebra 1 and pre-algebra to 8th graders and am certified in Special Education. That means that I naturally look for the best way that YOU will understand the concept you need to. I also list steps and give reasons why you need to know that when I can.

I am looking forward to helping people grasp one of the most hated, feared, difficult subjects stress free and with ease. I am patient, kind and have a way with both kids and adults that make learning more like hanging out. I am funny and easy to talk to. I truly enjoy people and math. I look forward to meeting you and making your experience better and easier.
