I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2013, earning a Bachelor of Science degree summa cum laude along with my K–6 Teaching Certification. I have been teaching for thirteen years and currently teach 6th grade, giving me extensive experience with upper elementary and middle school learners.
My teaching experience includes instruction in traditional classroom settings, one-on-one support, and virtual learning environments, including full-time virtual instruction during COVID-19. In addition, I have two years of experience tutoring students online through ClassDojo, where I provided individualized, engaging instruction tailored to each student’s needs.
I have worked with students ranging in age from 3 to 15 years old and have significant experience supporting diverse learners. This includes students in general education, inclusion classrooms, and resource/separate settings, as well as students with IEPs, 504 plans, and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). I have also worked extensively with English Language Learners (ESL) and students with a wide range of neurodiverse needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, ODD, OCD, Anxiety, and Dyslexia.
My instructional approach is flexible and student-centered, allowing me to adapt lessons and strategies to best support individual learning styles while maintaining high expectations and academic growth.
