Hello, I’m Will! I’m a medical student and neuroscience researcher passionate about helping others succeed through tutoring and mentorship.

I hold a Bachelor’s in Communications, a Post-baccalaureate in Biology, and a Master’s in Industrial Design. Over the past eight years I’ve published more than 15 papers in leading peer-reviewed journals, contributed to two FDA-approved medical devices and patents, earned multiple scholarships, scored in the top quarter on the MCAT and GRE, and received offers from over a dozen graduate programs. These achievements didn’t come from innate talent—they came from failing, adapting, and steadily growing. That’s the perspective I bring to my students: success is a skill that can be learned.

As a college application mentor, I help students strengthen their entire application: packet building, essay revisions, and interview prep. I’ve guided more than 30 students toward acceptances into Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, and MD/DO programs, and my admissions committee experience allows me to share practical, insider advice.

As a tutor, I specialize in Neuroscience, Physiology, Anatomy, Microbiology, Cell Biology, and Biochemistry. I work with undergraduate pre-meds, healthcare graduate students, and motivated high schoolers. I emphasize not just mastering content, but mastering how to learn: active learning, spaced repetition, simplifying complex topics until you can teach them, and test-taking strategies that build long-term growth.

As a research mentor, I focus on medicine-related projects. I’ve helped more than 20 students publish peer-reviewed articles and posters, and guided high school through graduate students as they prepared competitive applications.

Regardless of whether it's tutoring, mentoring, or advising, my mission is simple: help you reach your next step. I offer a free consultation to understand your goals, answer questions, and create a personalized plan. I look forward to meeting you and supporting your academic journey!

Neuroscience

I am a clinical neuroscience researcher at the UNC School of Medicine, Department of Neurology, where I conduct and publish research on brain disorders using functional neuroimaging. I’ve co-authored over a dozen neuroscience papers, mentored undergraduate and graduate students, and currently tutor neurobiology at the college level. I specialize in breaking down complex systems like sensory processing, brain development, and motor control into clear, approachable concepts. Whether you're studying for exams or need help with conducting your own research, I can help you build real understanding and confidence.

Physiology

As a current medical student, I study human physiology in depth as part of my core training. I also tutor undergraduate and pre-health students, helping them master challenging topics like cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and endocrine systems. I focus on making physiology logical and memorable, using clinical examples and step-by-step explanations tailored to each student.

Exceptionally knowledgeable and effective tutor

I contacted many potential tutors to help my daughter with her challenging Biochemistry class. Will stood out to me because of his passion for science, attention to detail, and his high level of professionalism responding to my inquiry. My daughter loves working with Will and he has helped her prepare for tough exams. She is much more confident and prepared going into classes. After Will worked with her for 3 sessions, she scored 25 points above the class average in an extremely difficult BioChem test. My daughter and I highly recommend working with Will. He truly is concerned for the students he tutors and is gifted at making complicated material understandable.

Medical School Essay Savant

He assisted in my medical school secondaries and helped edit my essays. He gave me a lot of good advice to improve my essays and even worked asynchronously to add his thoughts. He works efficiently, and his edits are top-notch.

Extremely helpful and passionate

Will's teaching strategies have helped me significantly. He's very passionate about what he teaches and provides great learning tools and strategies. During tutoring sessions, he uses a strategy called active learning which is extremely helpful for memorizing lots of information. This strategy has helped me a lot while studying for the brain bee. Thanks to Will, studying has been an absolute breeze.
