I attended Virginia Commonwealth University for my undergraduate degree and majored in chemistry/minored in Spanish. Beginning in December 2020, I accepted a job at my schools tutoring center for college-age students. I began with virtual tutoring through COVID, including subjects such as general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biology. When we transitioned to having the option for in person learning, I was able to work with students in group and individual tutoring that promoted a positive learning environment and support for student's wellbeing.
I also had the opportunity to live in Spain for 7 months and work as an English language assistant to elementary age kids. It is because of this opportunity that my communication skills excelled and I was able to learn how to be creative in my forms of teaching. In the future, I would be interested in doing ESL work in tutoring as well.
Currently I am a 1st year medical student and am looking to find ways to contribute to learning and growth in a flexible manner. While I have the most experience in the sciences, and that is what I am currently studying, I also have passions in history, English, geography, and Math.
