Hi! My name is Alicia, and I am a licensed North Carolina elementary educator who is passionate about helping young learners feel confident, capable, and excited about learning. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education (K–6) from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, graduating with a 4.0 GPA, and I also hold an Associate's degree in Teacher Education.

My passion for education began while I was completing my Associate's degree and working as a preschool teacher. For nearly two years, I helped young children grow academically, socially, and emotionally while building the foundational skills they need for future success. This experience sparked my love for working with early learners and continues to influence my teaching today.

I have experience working with students in both classroom and one-on-one settings. During my student teaching internship in a third-grade classroom, I progressed from assisting with instruction to independently teaching all core subjects. Following my internship, I served as a long-term substitute teacher, where I independently managed a classroom for six months and supported diverse learners.

While I enjoy working with students across the elementary grades, my greatest passion is supporting Kindergarten through 3rd-grade learners. I specialize in early literacy, phonics, reading comprehension, and foundational math skills. I also have experience using research-based curricula, including Fundations, Wit & Wisdom, and Eureka Math.

My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and tailored to each student's unique needs. I strive to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence, and celebrating their progress. My goal is to help students strengthen their skills, develop a love of learning, and feel proud of what they can accomplish.
