Hi, I'm Garrett! I graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2023 with a Bachelor's degree in Finance and a minor in Data Science. My experience in school, especially during the Covid pandemic, taught me about the importance of good relationships with educators and peers. I could read the textbook and complete the work, but the best way I found to learn was by sharing with peers to help them understand concepts as well.
I completed almost two full years as a Calculus I teaching assistant, providing additional 2-hour assistance sessions weekly. These would generally be structured as a group session with anywhere between 20-30 students and was completely freelance, advertised solely by myself and open to any student from any section of Calculus. These grew exponentially each semester and I was able to evolve the program to include small group sessions to more effectively assist students at their own level.
In addition to my Calculus experience, I also have a background working in finance and have a firm interest in music and history. Although I haven't provided formal tutoring for any of these, I've operated as a key trainer in financial analysis at my current job and have spent time in the past as in-class support for students struggling with world history or musical concepts.
