I am a tutor with a B.S. in English and Writing and a Masters in Elementary Education. I began tutoring during the pandemic and realized how much I love it! I have tutored students from 1st grade and up through helping college students with course essays. I typically use a hands-on or a one-on-one method for my tutoring, but have also done group work with up to six students at a time. I work with the student to find their needs and build their goals, and create a plan to help them reach these goals. In my tutoring, I predominately help students with writing and reading skills, with some experience tutoring elementary and middle school math, science, and history.
I have been both an informal and formal educator. I worked in a kindergarten classroom as a head teacher for two years. I implemented a strong hands-on learning experience for my students. As an informal educator, I taught preschool aged children where I continually focused on their interests and tied this into the standards for learning.
