Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile. I hold a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Cambridge and have more than 15 years of experience teaching pharmacology and biomedical sciences. Over the past four years, I have taught pharmacology in medical education, helping healthcare professional students build a strong foundation in drug therapy and clinical applications. In addition to teaching, I have worked as a scientist at SUNY and Case Western Reserve University, giving me extensive experience in both pharmacological research and drug development.
I work with medical, pharmacy, and nursing students, as well as students preparing for the USMLE and COMLEX. I tutor pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, general and system-based pharmacology, mechanisms of action, therapeutic uses, adverse effects, toxicology, drug interactions, and clinical pharmacology.
My teaching philosophy is simple: pharmacology should be understood, not memorized. Many students struggle because they try to memorize hundreds of drug facts without understanding the underlying concepts. I focus on helping students connect a drug's mechanism of action to its therapeutic effects, side effects, and clinical uses. Once these relationships become clear, pharmacology becomes easier to learn, retain, and apply to exams and clinical scenarios. I use clear explanations, clinical examples, and board-style reasoning to make complex topics manageable and engaging.
Every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to individual needs and learning styles. Whether you are preparing for an exam, reviewing a difficult topic, or seeking a deeper understanding of pharmacology, my goal is to help you build confidence and achieve lasting success.
I offer an introductory consultation to discuss your goals and determine how I can best support your learning. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a lesson. I look forward to helping you succeed in pharmacology.
