History Lover with Extensive Business Experience

I'm Matt I have a Bachelor's degree in History and a Master's in Organizational Leadership and 8 years of experience in business. I initially thought of becoming a history teacher and have always enjoyed helping people understand a new topic. While I did not explore teaching after graduating, a part of me has always been intrigued by the idea of getting back into the world of tutoring or teaching. I consider myself a generalist with history with an interest in a lot of different topics, but I have always tended to focus on World War 2, Vietnam, and the Cold War.

My business experience has been focused on talent acquisition, so I understand the importance of a good resume, exploring the next career step, and how to better utilize PowerPoint and Excel. My career in talent acquisition has helped me realize what hiring managers are looking for on a resume and can help explore what the next steps in someone's career that might be worth exploring.

I've also become an expert in creating business-ready PowerPoint presentations and how to utilize data within Excel to craft a well-thought story that the data is telling us.. I can help explain the importance of a well-crafted slide and how to drive the main point home.

I have a strong personal desire to continue learning, and I want to help that continued desire to help you succeed! While I have no tutoring experience, I have spent 6 years coaching and training employees. I understand the importance of one-on-one conversations and identifying how the learner learns best and using what I learn about the learner to adapt the training and development to help them succeed.
