Helping students understand Anatomy, Physiology, and Kinesiology is a passion of mine. I graduated with a degree in Physical Therapy from SUNY Stony Brook in 1997, which was followed by completion of a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2003. I am presently a faculty member for Carolinas Rehabilitation's Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency Program. As a faculty member, I serve as a mentor for physical therapy residents and I am the primary instructor for the Soft Tissue Mobilization, Hip, and Shoulder classes. I completed my OCS (Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedics) in 2012. In 2015, I became a Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Specialist (Dry Needling).

I have 21+ years of clinical experience, which includes serving as a clinical instructor for students. I have eight years experience teaching and mentoring physical therapy residents. I use props and diagrams to help students understand how the body moves and works. I guide students by helping them problem solve and improve their clinical reasoning skills. Providing clinical examples also helps students relate what they are learning in class to the health care world. In addition to tutoring, I can also offer Job interview preparation, and help prepare those taking the orthopedic clinical specialty examination.

My expertise is in musculoskeletal, neural, and abdominal visceral anatomy. Numerous continuing education courses have prepared me to assist others in identifying and palpating bony landmarks and soft tissue structures.

Please contact me to see if I can assist you in improving your comprehension of these subjects. I will respond quickly to your inquiries. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions or to schedule a lesson.

Great teacher!

Gary is an excellent tutor! I had 4 lessons with him and he was very patient and knowledgeable. He helped me to better understand topics in PT Kinesiology. He answered any questions that I had and made sure to give me examples. He even used analogies and objects to help me understand certain motions better. I highly recommend him! Thank you!!

wonderful! first time with a tutor and will not be my last!

Gary was wonderful!! Being I prefer visual learning, my hybrid, accelerated, graduate program is difficult to say the least. Gary was able to add in so many visuals and analogies to material that made things click so much easier!! Absolutely wonderful tutor!

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Gary was very knowledgeable and thoroughly explained the topics I had questions on. He took the time to draw examples of topics I was going over in class while also explaining in detail how certain structures worked and how they were affected.

Patient & very nice

Even though Gary said he doesn't normally teach the subject I need help in (Basic Exercise in Physiology). He still gave me a shot & now we are moving on to more sessions. Knowledge & Patient I'm happy I went with him as a choice.

Great!

Once again a very clear, helpful, thoughtful, step by step session where Gary saw exactly what my areas of weakness were and helped clearly and slowly break it down until I could explain it myself. Always done in a patient and fun way! Terrific
