My academic background is in public health and the foundational sciences, which has given me a strong and versatile skill set across multiple subjects. I earned both a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from East Carolina University, followed by a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Virginia Tech. This interdisciplinary training allows me to approach subjects like math, chemistry, and science with both technical depth and real-world application, helping students better understand not just how concepts work, but why they matter.

I have several years of tutoring experience working with students across a range of ages and academic levels. I began tutoring math and physics at the Pirate Academic Success Center at East Carolina University, where I supported college students in one-on-one and small group settings. I also served as a tutor through AmeriCorps with the Boys and Girls Club of the Coastal Plains, working with younger students to build foundational skills and confidence. Most recently, I have been tutoring with Grade Potential, where I work with local students in subjects including math, chemistry, and history, adapting my approach to meet each student’s individual learning style.

In addition to tutoring, my professional experience includes roles as an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist with Amazon and as an Industrial Hygienist with The EI Group. These positions have strengthened my ability to apply scientific and analytical thinking in real-world environments. What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to connect academic concepts to practical applications, along with my commitment to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment that helps students build confidence and achieve their goals.
