Hi! My name is Medha and I'm currently a highschool student with my Associates Degree in Science and I'm graduating high school in the top 20 of my class. I have three years of experience working with elementary and middle school students in math, reading, writing, and foundational science. Throughout my own academic journey, I struggled at times with subjects like math and certain areas of reading comprehension. I know firsthand how frustrating it can feel to try your best and still not immediately understand a concept. Those experiences motivated me to develop stronger study habits, ask better questions, and find learning strategies that truly worked for me. Because I have been in that position myself, I am especially passionate about helping students build both skill and confidence in the subjects they find challenging.
Over the past three years, I have worked with students in one-on-one and small group settings, helping elementary students strengthen reading fluency and comprehension, and guiding middle school students through pre-algebra, algebra, and general homework support. My approach focuses on breaking concepts down into clear, manageable steps and adjusting my teaching style based on each student’s needs. I use guided practice, real-life examples, and interactive problem-solving to make lessons feel less intimidating and more engaging. I also prioritize creating a space where students feel comfortable asking questions without fear of judgment.
My goal as a tutor is not just to improve grades, but to help students believe in their own ability to succeed. I understand how much confidence impacts academic performance, and I work intentionally to celebrate progress, no matter how small. By combining patience, structure, and encouragement, I aim to help students move from feeling stuck or discouraged to feeling capable and proud of their growth.
