I've always had an affection for colors, art, and drawing and have enjoyed my career as a designer thus far. My design teachers were straight to the point and honest, but at the same time, encouraging and really cared. I really loved that about the program I was in. I try to do the same thing whether I'm tutoring, mentoring or helping an intern at my company interested in design.
I have several years experience in helping students realize their love for design and helping even those that thought they couldn't learn more, take away more about design then they imagined. It started with interns at my company that had no experience with graphic design and walked out knowing that was what they wanted to do. The real payoff is seeing a smile on someone's face after doing something or completing a task they thought was totally out of their reach. I love that connection and it helps me to be a better person as well.
I am the go to person for proofreading in my department. I love to read, so I am usually the one someone asks to read over a report or over an important multi-page memo or presentation.
I have quite a bit of experience in working with high school students as interns. While they complete their internship, many of them know little to nothing about Graphic Design. I work with them on Adobe Creative Cloud programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign to form their understanding of how the programs can work to accomplish their project goals that we are working on at the time.
