I have over 10 years of experience in multiple engineering/management roles and also a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Master's in Computer Information System. In school, I took multiple courses on different programming languages including Java, C#, PHP, Assembly and Python. Throughout my career journey so far, I have also done a few college internships plus multiple engineering roles including software engineer, DevOps engineer, and data engineer to understand different aspects of technology. Currently, I'm an engineering manager in which I both role model and coach engineers on the modern industry best practices to build secure and scalable software systems. We primarily work on cloud technologies plus web development frameworks such as Angular. To be successful, I have kept a "lifelong learner" and "continuous improvement" mindset to every new opportunity that came my way, and encourage my students to follow the same. For example, I gained the Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner certification in 2021 because it matched both my goals and my company's goals.
I have 4 years of tutoring experience, both in-person and online. I worked in my college's on-campus center for 2 years as a Computer Science tutor, providing homework and exam guidance for all courses including Algorithms and Data Structures. Finally, I tutored for 2 years on Chegg's online platform with high school/college students.
Outside of technology, I also have a passion for playing music. I played the viola in my school's orchestra and have given private violin and viola lessons in 2019-2020 for beginner elementary students.
My methods can adjust to the style of individual students, and my goal is to help you fully understand a concept rather than just get through the current assignment. I can help break down and understand a problem step by step, then help you apply the problem to a homework or practical assignment. Ultimately, you actually doing the problem multiple times until you're comfortable is the best way to learn!
