I obtained my associate's in math from Harford Community College, and my bachelor's from Towson University in mathematical economics.

As a student, I understand the importance of simplifying and breaking down concepts. For me, and many others that I have tutored, this is essential for understanding and retaining new information, especially when it comes to math. I like to get as basic as possible so we can then build and apply simpler concepts to more complex problems. I am a visual tutor. I always come prepared to each lesson with a dry erase board and markers at a minimum. Math is not something that can just be explained. It helps to be able to see steps, tricks, and examples.

I've been tutoring since 2008, and I love it. In fact, it is one of the reasons I'm inspired to become an educator. It brings me great joy to help those who struggle with math begin to somewhat appreciate and understand a subject I am passionate about. I believe math is critical not only in school, but in life. If students cannot grasp these concepts now, it could greatly impact their future endeavors. I strive to eliminate that deficiency.

I've completed calculus I, II, and III, differential equations, and statistics. I'm currently completing linear algebra and discrete math. While I enjoyed these maths, I prefer to teach and assist with the lower maths (i.e. the algebras and trig) because they apply to everybody. Despite the major or career field, everybody is going to use basic math. I like to help solidify these concepts for future success.

I have done volunteer tutoring at the Freestate Challenge Academy on Aberdeen Proving Ground. The cadets range from 16-18, and we helped prepare them for the GED exam. While we assisted with any subject, our primary focus was math. In addition to tutoring with the program, I worked with the math teacher in class to also better prepare cadets for the GED. During study hall hours, I worked with a group of about 20 to clarify anything learned in class.
