I began my nursing journey with a deep commitment to high-acuity care, eventually earning my ADN and becoming a Registered Nurse. Over the last three-plus years, I have worked in diverse critical care settings, most notably in a Level 1 Trauma Center. My professional background includes serving as a Charge Nurse for a large 40-bed emergency department and working as a nursing preceptor. To further my expertise in emergency medicine and prepare for a career in flight nursing, I also successfully completed an EMT-B program. These experiences have provided me with a robust foundation in complex pharmacology, EKG interpretation, and the critical thinking skills required to manage high-stakes patient care.

My teaching experience has primarily taken place in the clinical setting, where I have spent several years as a nursing preceptor. In this role, I provide one-on-one mentorship to new nursing graduates and students, helping them transition from theoretical classroom knowledge to real-world bedside application. My teaching method is rooted in the "Preceptor Approach," which focuses on unfolding case studies and clinical reasoning rather than rote memorization. I believe in creating a supportive, down-to-earth environment where students feel safe to ask questions as we break down complex pathophysiology into manageable, logical steps.

Throughout my time as an educator, I have worked with adult learners ranging from senior nursing students to newly licensed professionals. My goal is always to bridge the gap between "textbook" nursing and the reality of the field, ensuring that my students not only pass their exams but also feel confident in their clinical judgment. By sharing the mnemonics and strategies that have served me well in a Level 1 Trauma environment, I help my students master the NCLEX standards and critical care concepts they need to succeed in their own nursing careers.
