Since I started tutoring Korean, I have tutored a variety of people who are interested in K-pop, K-drama, Korean food, etc. This has provided me with familiarity with any topics about Korea, from politics to celebrities. Instead of having fixed lesson plans, I plan my lessons specifically based on what you would like to learn. According to what you would like to learn, I would choose teaching materials. For instance, if you would like to learn basic conversational expressions, I usually use captured short video clips from K-dramas. Or if you already have textbooks or printed materials, I can use them and provide you with additional materials that would help you understand them.
I have two years tutoring experience and I have had more than 20 tutees so far. Plus, majoring in Korean History, I could let you know not just Korean but also Korean history that helps you understand the social and cultural background of the Korean society.
Do you want to understand your Korean songs' lyrics better? Are you still using Korean subtitles to watch your favorite Korean drama? Are you looking for a Korean who is willing to go to Korean restaurants with you and talk about Korean food? Please do not hesitate to contact me with any additional questions!
