HOMESCHOOLERS ARE WELCOME!
I am a Russian native speaker living in the U.S., and I specialize in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and Russian as a Foreign Language to students of all levels and ages.
I hold a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Linguistics from Saratov State University (Russia), with a specialization in Teaching English as a Foreign Language and Translation. My academic credentials also include a diploma in Translation for Professional Communication. I graduated with honors. As a teacher and a translator, I am a firm believer in lifelong learning. Languages are not only my career; they are my passion - I also speak German and Spanish and am currently learning French.
I have over 8 years of teaching experience, working with students of all levels-from beginners to advanced professionals. In addition, I have worked as a professional translator for the past 3 years.
My Teaching Methodology: I'm a big advocate for a balanced approach to language-learning. During my lessons, I focus on developing all four courses language competences in my students: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Variety is key to consistency, so I never rely on one textbook alone. Instead, I use a diverse range of materials like articles, podcasts, videos, books.
Though I try to be flexible with my time, I do have a minimum 24-hour cancellation policy.
Whether you're preparing for an exam (IELTS, TOEFL, or TORFL for Russian), improving your business language skills, or simply learning for the enjoyment of it, I look forward to helping you achieve your language learning goals. Upon request, I am available for a free 20-minute consultation for new students.
