Hi! My name is Mark, and I look forward to working with you!
I’ve enjoyed over 20 years of teaching, coaching, and mentoring secondary, collegiate, and adult learners. I hold a B.A. in Communication, a teaching credential in English, and an M.A. equivalency in Communications. Beyond academics, I bring real-world experience that helps connect learning to practical outcomes. As an entrepreneurial business owner, I started a leaders school where my team and I trained 200 students from 20 nations. I’ve had the privilege of traveling to 38 countries and working in 19 of those, requiring high emotional intelligence and great people skills.
When I was in school, the classes I liked most were as much about the teacher/professor as the subject content. I do everything I can to make learning an enjoyable experience. Most students are capable, but they just haven’t found an approach that fits with how they learn. I help my students find clarity and confidence. When we work together, I seek to understand how you think and what could be getting in the way. I take complex material and break it down into clear, manageable pieces, explaining the “why” so the learning actually sticks. My sessions are structured to be encouraging, and I adjust in real time based on what you need in the moment.
I approach tutoring as a collaborative partnership built around your goals. If you’re looking for a supportive, thoughtful tutor with lots of real-world experience who will meet you where you are and really help you grow in your subject and in general as a person, I’d be glad to work with you.
