Hello, my name is Kane B. I have been a math/physics/chemistry tutor for two years now. I have been doing exclusively private tutoring since I graduated from my community college earlier this year.
I graduated from Guilford Technical Community College in the spring of 2025 with my Associate in Science degree. I now study Interdisciplinary Physics at North Carolina State University.
I have been a tutor for two years now. I started tutoring at my community college in the Fall 2023 semester, and tutored students in courses ranging from introductory algebra to calculus III, as well as physics and chemistry classes. I now do private tutoring, and I am currently working with one student.
I tutor with the scaffolding method. This is where I introduce students to methods of solving a problem, building up rules and guidelines, then gradually take away the guidelines until they are working completely on their own.
I have taught all ages of students, the youngest being about 15, and the oldest in their 70s. I have taught students with learning disabilities and those whose primary language is not English.
I have mostly taught students in a one-on-one environment, but I also have experience tutoring groups of 4-5 students.
