I'm the lead editor at a new publishing house, an attorney, and an award-winning writer. I communicate well and timely to counsel, mentor, and explain plans, edits, objectives, goals, actions, and changes. I provide meaningful feedback by constructive and thorough analysis to bring work to maximum potential and to enhance core skills, progress, and confidence. Additionally, I have a strong background in communication and news media; I was a reporter, anchor, writer, director, producer, and videographer. I have a BA in Communication Studies, BFA in Creative Writing, JD, Certificate in Publishing, Book Editor Certificate, and Book Publisher Certificate.
Since graduating law school, I've been tutoring in language arts and communication through individual and group sessions. I tutor academic and creative writing (fiction and nonfiction), editing, research, journalism, speech, and presentation. I've taught/mentored students/writers through personalized lesson plans on editing, writing, structure, voice, narrative, storytelling, publication, the publishing industry, and audience for long-term understanding, organic growth, and achievement. Previously, in all my mass media roles, my main responsibilities included teaching my employees, staff/team members, and classmates. I've tutored those younger and older than me, as well as peers.
I listen to my students, seeking to understand them, as I create personalized instruction plans for them to best understand material. Because students are different in terms of learning styles, personalities, and backgrounds, I adapt my teaching to best help the student succeed and enjoy learning.
