Math/Computer Science Tutor

I have taught precalculus, college algebra, calculus I, II, and III, differential equations, and trigonometry. I am currently a computer science student at NC State University. I’ve worked in the college's tutoring center for two years, tutoring fellow students one-on-one in a range of topics from Math to computer science courses. I specialize in tutoring people without a strong math background.

I tutor computer science topics, especially data structures and algorithms. I currently work as a CodePath Tech Fellow, where I help students with the Technical Interview Prep course. I work with college students solving technical interview questions (leetcode). I can teach Basic Data Structures like Arrays, Strings, Linked Lists, Trees, Graphs, and Hash Tables. as well as Algorithms such as Searching, Sorting, and Recursion, etc. I have also taught numerous students myself to code from scratch in various languages such as Python, JavaScript, and Java.
I achieved A in Calculus I, II, and III, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and Discrete Mathematics. My current overall GPA is 3.8.

One way that I find useful in many situations is to have the student construct a step-by-step plan with me. First, we solve an example problem, and I thoroughly explain each step and my reasons for doing so. Once we've reached an answer, I ask the student to explain what I did and why, and their response serves as a written template for any future difficulties. This method enables students to quickly learn difficult subjects.
