I am currently a rising senior at Western Carolina University, where I am double majoring in Finance and Business Administration and maintain a 4.0 GPA in both majors. My academic background has given me strong experience in mathematics, accounting, finance, economics, and other business-related subjects. I am especially interested in tutoring Algebra I and II, accounting courses, and business classes such as finance, economics, management, and business administration. My professional experience as a paralegal has also strengthened my analytical, organizational, and communication skills and taught me how to explain complicated information clearly and logically.
My tutoring approach focuses on helping students understand why a concept works rather than simply memorizing steps. In Algebra, I break problems into smaller pieces, identify where a student is struggling, work through examples together, and then allow the student to solve similar problems independently. With accounting, I focus on helping students understand how transactions flow through journal entries, ledgers, and financial statements rather than simply memorizing debit and credit rules. In business courses, I like connecting concepts to real companies and situations so students can see how the material applies outside the classroom.
Although my experience has primarily been academic and professional rather than in a traditional classroom, I am comfortable working one-on-one and explaining concepts in different ways until they make sense. As a current college student, I understand the challenges of preparing for exams and learning difficult material. My goal is to create a patient, supportive environment where students can ask questions, strengthen their understanding, and become confident solving problems independently.
