I am a licensed reading teacher and guidance counselor. I've been teaching since 1999 when I began teaching Kindergarten in Southern California. Throughout the years, I've taught 4th, 5th, and 6th-grade language arts, social studies, and K-5 technology classes.
I've also taught and tutored reading to preschool through 5th-grade students, including at my own tutoring business. The majority of my experience is in teaching reading to students with ADD, ADHD, and learning disabilities.
I teach in a very methodical and sequential format, and I don't go beyond the current step until my students have achieved the step we're working on, however, I may go back to a previous step if necessary.
I've taught all of my reading students how to read and have helped students who were struggling with reading reach grade-level success or beyond to be prepared for their state exams.
I love teaching reading as it is very rewarding to see students achieve success in their reading skills.
My goals and my fulfillment have always been to help my students succeed.
