I have been teaching while my husband, who is Air Force, and I have moved to many different bases. I've had the pleasure of helping students ages 10 to 18 at the Youth Center in Guam as I headed up our power hour for after school studies. While we were in Turkey, I was a lead teacher in the school age program for students ages 6 to 16. Helping these children who needed help with their schoolwork was one of the most rewarding jobs I've had. While we were stationed in Seattle, WA I was the lead Preschool teacher at KinderCare in Puyallup. During all these jobs I was required to form lesson plans as well as carry them out.
Every child learns differently and unfortunately most school systems today do not grab hold of this fact and use it as an opportunity. To keep a child's interest and help them flourish their creative thinking is vital. This will help them think outside the box in not only their schoolwork, but different situations that arise in everyday life. My goal is to teach your child how to help me help them.
