Parent: I had never hired a tutor before for my homeschool student. I found Mariya on WyzAnt and am very very satisfied. From the start she has been professional, prompt and helpful. She answers my texts, emails or calls as promptly as possible. She was personable and put my daughter at ease and made sure she understood completely the problem at hand. She was efficient and careful to use our time wisely. We had a great experience. Student: Mariya was a very valuable resource for my math classes in high school. I needed an A average in Geometry and Algebra 2 to increase my chances of getting accepted into a college program, and with her help I got an A in both! As a homeschooler, my math courses were hard for me to teach myself using just a textbook, so Mariya helped me review and understand the concepts in my textbook. The subjects covered in my two math classes included statistics, calculus, geometry, algebra, and trigonometry. She was especially good at helping me to visualize problems by using visual aids or by sketching diagrams (especially with word problems and geometry/trigonometry problems) and she taught me to use common sense when checking my answers. She is professional, adaptable, reliable, honest, easy to contact, and comes prepared.

Mariya was wonderful with my daughter. She made math fun and easy to understand. My daughter is actually looking forward to studying with Mariya again. We really appreciated her patience and her laid-back teaching style. Update: 04/28/14 Mariya only had two weeks to tutor my daughter a to retake the math section of her SAT. In that short time, Mariya was able to explain the concepts that my daughter was struggling with, and make them easier to understand. My daughter needed a better score to get an acceptance letter to go to college. Two weeks later, she retook the Sat and her math score increased over 100 points! She got her acceptance letter and is on her way to college all thanks to Mariya. She's a wonderful tutor. To parents who may be on the fence about paying for a tutor, all I can say is: the smile on my daughter's face when she got her acceptance letter was worth every penny.
