Hi! I am Zhanè (Jaw-Nay). I graduated in 2019 as valedictorian of my winter class with a 4.0 GPA, with a major in biology and a double minor in psychology and biochemistry while excelling as a student-athlete on a pre-medical track. Throughout my collegiate career, I tutored fellow students, particularly athletes, and supported high school students through a youth program. After graduation, I took a gap year to work for the federal government, where I developed case management skills comparable to preparing lab reports and medical documentation.
Given my background, I am well-versed in a wide array of sciences. I apply my knowledge of these areas daily as a current 3rd-year medical student (M.D) in clinical rotations, where I help coordinate patient care from pharmaceutical planning to diagnosing with relevant anatomical and physiological knowledge.
My educational journey has also equipped me with effective learning strategies. I am proficient in teaching methods such as teach-back and narrative-style consolidation, which help integrate material into long-term memory. However, I am very dynamic and flexible when it comes to teaching other methods as well. I honed this ability as a summer TA through my medical doctoral program for pre-medical students in 2022 and 2023. I am confident that I can help you achieve your academic goals by helping you to not only learn the material but also to learn it effectively.

Anatomy

Anatomy

Anatomy is a required course for the pre-medical track at my undergraduate institution. I passed with a A on a 4.0 scale. Anatomy is a required pre-clinical course in medical school and is integrated daily in clinical practice (e.g. in the OR, we have to know what body parts are being operated on and why. Down to the nerves and vasculature).
Biology

Biology

A 2019 graduate with a 4.0 GPA as a biology major with a double minor in biochemistry and psychology. Biology is also a very strong basis of most health sciences, as I am a current 3rd-year medical student.
College Counseling

College Counseling

I served on the admissions board of a top 25 U.S. medical school, bringing firsthand insight into what competitive academic programs are looking for in applicants. I’ve successfully navigated multiple admissions cycles myself, from undergrad to medical doctoral programs. I have helped students apply to undergraduate, graduate, and professional schools across a wide range of disciplines. I specialize in helping students craft compelling personal statements, master their interviews, and build confident narratives that align with their academic goals.
Genetics

Genetics

Genetics is considered a core foundation principle at my medical school. Having completed 18 months of pre-clinical care and passing my medical licensing exam, I am well-versed in genetics. Genetics was also required for my undergraduate degree where I graduated with a 4.0 sGPA.
Interview Prep

Interview Prep

I have successfully completed the interview process for five medical doctoral programs and served as a student member on the admissions committee at a top 25 U.S. medical school. This gives me a dual perspective: I understand what it's like to be in the applicant seat and to evaluate candidates in MMI, traditional, blinded, and panel-style interviews. I’ve worked closely with students of all disciplines, many of whom are now successful students in undergraduate and professional programs. Whether you're preparing for a structured MMI or an open-file panel, I can help you sharpen your responses and communicate your unique value with clarity and confidence.
Marketing

Marketing

I have an active Youtube channel boasting 40-200% viewership on average with steady subscriber growth at 40-50 subscribers per weekly upload. I am very familiar with SEO for individual use and on a company scale. I am the marketing manager for 1 international (Sugar Rush Trinidad and Tobago) and 2 national organizations (American Medical Society of Sports Medicine MSIG, AAPMR MSIG). I have a portfolio link with all necessary information and analytics.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

I applied to six medical schools as an out of state applicant and I was accepted into 5. Three of my acceptances were to Top 25 ranked medical schools, where I am currently enrolled in one. I am a mentor and summer teaching assistant to help students craft personal statements for admissions committees and sat as a student reviewer for my medical school.
Pharmacology

Pharmacology

Pre-clinical at a T25 medical school. Pharmacology is a required course for the duration of pre-clinical years (18 months) and a part of the USMLE licensing examinations
Spanish

Spanish

My step-family is from the Dominican Republic. I speak casual Spanish with them on a nearly weekly basis, as they live in the DR. I also underwent 4-years of formal classroom study, including medical Spanish within my current medical education.
