Hi! I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Psychology. I am certified to teach kindergarten through six grade. I've been a brick and mortar teacher for the past 15 years and am currently the lead teacher for my schools Third Grade team. I’ve also been teaching virtually for the past 7 years at nights and on weekends. I love teaching - it is my passion!

I bring my expertise and knowledge into each class I teach. I enjoy making learning a pleasant experience. Typically, my lesson plans introduce the topic in a fun and creative way. I then explicitly teach the standard in a “I do, we do, you do” format. I ensure time for the scholar to practice the material on their own. Of course, this method can be adjusted based on the subject and student’s individual needs.

My tutoring experience consists of in person small group instruction as well as one on one virtual instruction. For the past several years, I’ve lead an afterschool tutoring program at my school which consisted of four small groups of 6 students. I began with homework support then went into standards support teaching strategies for both math and literacy as needed. I also taught test prep strategies for unit assessments as well as EOG’s. The data showed these sessions were extremely productive in helping my scholars gain knowledge in the standards with their much improved scores. I’ve taught these same strategies virtually, for the past seven years, in a one on one setting.

I want to benefit the students I work with as much as possible so I welcome any resources or suggestions students or parents can provide. I am easy to reach and will always provide fast responses.
