Hello, everyone! My name is Elise :) I was homeschooled through high school. I then attended Isothermal Community College and graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree. I attended Charleston Southern University for one year working towards my bachelor's. I finished my Bachelor's Degree in History online with Liberty University. In December 2024, I graduated with my Master's Degree in Public History from Liberty University, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. I currently work as a Writing Center Tutor at Isothermal Community College, where I help students improve their papers, and as the Saturday Manager at Hart Square, a living history museum. Soon, I will begin teaching history classes at Cleveland Community College as an adjunct.
Being homeschooled, I was responsible for completing my own assignments in a timely manner. I learned time management skills and personal responsibility. Having completed much of my undergraduate and graduate work online, I am well-versed in an online school platform. I have some experience working with MLA, APA, and Turabian formatting styles.
I interned with Kings Mountain National Military Park the Summer of 2025. I attended two trips to Ireland through a Study Abroad Program in 2023 and 2024. I worked at Biltmore from 2022-2023, an historic house museum, as an interpretive host. I am passionate about writing, public speaking, and history and seek to connect with individuals of all age levels by imparting this passion and love to them.
Finally, I love people. I love interacting with people and helping them to be successful with their lives. Having been a student recently myself, I understand the challenges that students face. I believe everyone should have the opportunity to succeed in their educational goals. Feel free to contact me with any questions! I am always open to suggestions, comments, concerns, or questions!
