I am a licensed North Carolina elementary educator with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Wingate University and five years of experience teaching in public schools. Throughout my career, I have taught students in grades Kindergarten through 3rd grade, and I currently teach Kindergarten full-time. My classroom experience has given me a strong understanding of how children learn best in the early elementary years and how to build the foundational skills they need for long-term success.

I offer tutoring in math, literacy, phonics, grammar, and writing, with a special passion for reading instruction and phonics. I enjoy helping students become confident readers by building skills such as letter sounds, blending, decoding, fluency, comprehension, and spelling. I also support students in math by strengthening number sense, addition and subtraction strategies, problem solving, and foundational math concepts.

One of my greatest strengths as an educator is using student data to guide instruction. I regularly assess student progress, identify strengths and areas of need, and create targeted lessons that meet each child where they are. Whether a student needs remediation, extra practice, or enrichment, I personalize sessions to help them grow.

My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and engaging. I believe students learn best when they feel supported and successful, so I work hard to create a positive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and taking academic risks. I also understand that every child learns differently, and I tailor my approach to match each student’s needs and learning style.
