I have a Master of Science degree in Special Education K–12 and 3 years of experience with structured literacy, including the Orton-Gillingham approach, a multisensory, evidence-based method to help students with dyslexia and other reading challenges. I regularly attend professional development workshops and classes focused on reading intervention, phonics, and comprehension strategies. I work with K–5 students, particularly those who struggle with fluency, decoding, comprehension, and building confidence in literacy.

I have worked with students for eight years in both one-on-one and small-group settings, including classroom teaching, private tutoring, and supporting students with academic needs in the general and special education settings based on IEP goals and services. During this time, I have helped children with diverse learning needs develop foundational reading skills and increase their confidence in school. My tutoring sessions are structured, individualized, and focused on measurable progress, while maintaining a positive and encouraging learning environment.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to combine proven literacy strategies with a patient, supportive approach that makes reading engaging and understandable. I work closely with each student to identify strengths and challenges, adapting lessons to ensure steady progress. My ultimate goal is to help students move from frustration to confidence, and families often report that their child’s confidence and enjoyment of reading have significantly increased.

I have several years of experience teaching K–5 students with Dyslexia and reading difficulties. Using the Orton-Gillingham method and other structured literacy strategies, I teach phonemic awareness, decoding, and spelling through multisensory, step-by-step instruction. I love watching students move from frustration to confidence as reading finally begins to make sense.
