I have traveled extensively as a corporate trainer. My target audiences were entry to senior levels, as well as new hires. I also acted in the capacity of technical support, assisting sales & marketing, as well as engineering departments to educate customers on the scientific principles, use and benefits of complex industrial systems. I developed and presented training and education materials for national certification levels in Africa.
My passion is taking complex topics in chemistry, physics and materials engineering and present it in such a way, that it makes learning fun. I find my reward in seeing people mastering new skills, understanding the sciences and applying it in real life situations.
My attitude to mathematics is that it is a key that opens the door to a multitude of practical applications in many different skilled based careers. Besides being fun, mathematics is needed for:
1.) Statistics - which finds applications in every career where large populations are studied. (Examples: the analysis of polling data, medical diseases, finance and banking...and many more).
2.) Information Technology - computer sciences use mathematics in programming, data and artificial intelligence.
3.) Sciences - face it, mathematics is by far the most important tool in the scientists toolbox!
Oh, simply put, I myself was a slow learner. I needed to work twice as hard as anyone else to get good grades!
But, I made it all the way to a Ph.D. in Engineering, starting with B's and C's in early grades.
My favorite joke these days is that a Ph.D is someone who just don't know when to stop!!!
