I'm Anna! I am an Assistant Professor of Italian at a small university and I have over 13 years of experience teaching Italian language, literature, and culture at the university level. I am passionate about teaching and helping students find joy and meaning in their studies! I completed my PhD in Italian Studies at Indiana University, my MA in Italian at Middlebury College, and my BA in Art History at Wake Forest University. I studied in Italy for several years, and I have near-native fluency in the language.

I specialize in teaching Italian language at all levels. I believe in a communicative, interactive, and learner-centered approach that prioritizes the interests and needs of my students. I also teach Italian literature, culture, cinema, and art history. Although my main focus is Italian, I also teach courses in English. I have a lot of experience working with university level students on writing papers on a variety of academic topics related to literature, history, and art. I am skilled at helping my students craft insightful and well-written essays. I also have experience tutoring students individually online. In my one-on-one sessions with students, I tailor my approach to fit their goals and learning styles. I always prepare a lesson plan that balances student-centered learning and explicit teaching. I also provide materials for students to utilize outside of our sessions such as practice worksheets and PowerPoints.
