Hi, I'm Will! I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a B.A. in History. I am now student at Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, pursuing a Masters of Divinity. Throughout the 4 years of my undergrad degree, I was given many opportunities to teach in a variety of settings and I found all of these experiences to be highly rewarding and fulfilling.
During my sophomore and junior years I worked at a weekly after school program where another college student and I gave a bible lesson to group of about 15 kids ages 6-10. Although it was often very chaotic and it was definitely difficult to maintain the attention of the kids, I loved getting to be apart of the kids lives and helping them grow in their knowledge of the bible. I also led a weekly bible study through the Baptist Collegiate Ministry during my junior and seniors years. In this study I was teaching guys of my own age and I thoroughly enjoyed studying the text each week and sharing what I had learned with them.
My philosophy when it comes to teaching is first and foremost to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. In my experience as a student and teacher, people really start learning the material when they become interested in the material itself. In my lessons I hope to communicate my passion for history, religion, and writing, so that you will not just come away with facts, although that will certainly be a priority, but have an interest in the subject yourself.
