Hi, I'm Gaby. I graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2000 with a degree in communication and art. I have worked as a professional freelance writer and artist since 2009.
I'm passionate about helping children set themselves up for success. I have worked within the traditional American job market, but I am also an entrepreneur, and I want to help children develop the skills that they need to forge their way in a rapidly evolving world. I can help students become more resourceful and access their strengths to succeed academically and in the working world.
I owned and operated a creative playspace for children from 2012 to 2016, where I initiated and coordinated programs to help children with their creative, physical, emotional and social development. This playspace included a preschool, where the emphasis was on positive reinforcement and the freedom to explore and play. I believe that when kids feel purposeful and creative about what they do, they will excel.
I grew up with Latin-American parents and speak Spanish fluently. I speak English fluently and with no foreign accent. I have also lived in Europe and speak German and French, and I understand the challenges that come with learning a language.
I have also worked as a writer, proofreader and editor for more than 20 years. I have published three books and written hundreds of thousands of articles for various companies. I understand the intricacies of grammar, comprehension and creative writing.
I have also helped high school students develop their college essays to express themselves in the best possible way while retaining their personal sense of expression.
