I have been an avid reader all of my life, and as a result, majored in English at UNC-Wilmington. Many of my classes were focused on great writers and literature. Many of those courses also involved poetry, which I applied to writing my own poems and lyrics to songs that I composed.
Music has been a love of mine since before I could hardly speak. I have played in musical groups of all styles, ranging from religious to country/western to disco.
My early conversion as a Christian eventually led me to pursue a calling into ministry. During this time, I earned two Master's degrees in religious studies. I also worked in churches as a senior pastor for 16 years and as an associate pastor/ music leader for 4 years.
I have read the Bible a number of times in several different translations. My wife is a school teacher, and she has called on me from time to time to help her in areas such as grading papers or helping prepare materials for student activities.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I obtained a Master of Arts in Religion from Liberty University in 1990 and a Master of Divinity from Luther Rice Seminary in 1993. I pastored churches for a total of 16 years. I have been a chaplain for hospice 3 and 1/2 years.
I have a Bachelor's degree in English from UNC-W and took courses in creative writing; Shakespeare; and Victorian, Romantic, and Modern poetry/literature.
