As a certified special education teacher with over 18 years of experience, I have dedicated my career to supporting students with diverse learning needs, particularly in the areas of math and reading. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Special Education, and I am licensed to teach students with disabilities in grades 6 through 12. My background includes extensive work with students who have learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and emotional/behavioral challenges. I have taught in a variety of settings, including resource rooms and inclusive settings, tailoring instruction to meet the individual goals and academic standards of each student.

Throughout my career, I have developed a strong understanding of differentiated instruction and multisensory teaching approaches. I believe in meeting students where they are and using evidence-based strategies such as explicit instruction, visual supports, scaffolded practice, and continuous formative assessment to build both skills and confidence. I've worked one-on-one and in small groups, both in the classroom and through after-school tutoring, and I always prioritize building strong relationships that foster trust, motivation, and academic growth. I specialize in breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps, particularly for students who may have struggled with traditional instruction.

My passion is helping students see themselves as capable learners. I strive to create a supportive and structured learning environment where mistakes are seen as opportunities and progress is celebrated. Whether we're working on foundational reading comprehension or building fluency with algebraic expressions, I aim to make learning accessible, meaningful, and encouraging. Parents and students can trust that I bring not only deep experience but also a compassionate, student-centered approach to every session.
