As a production and communications artist with 15+ years of experience, I specialize in tutoring graphic design, illustration, concept art, photo editing, vector graphics, motion graphics animation, video editing and production using Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere, and other Adobe Creative Cloud applications. I also tutor essential technology skills, like Mac and PC, email, web browsers, and file organization. I use Microsoft Office as well as Google Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides, etc.

Located in North Carolina, I graduated high school in 2004 (Summa Cum Laude) and went to college at Appalachian State University (Music Industry Studies). After two years at ASU, I realized music industry wasn't for me, so I took a break from school until 2008. I transferred to East Carolina University's School of Art and Design and graduated December 2014 with a BFA in Animation & Interactive Design. I am a Certified Zendesk Customer Service Professional with an intuitive talent for user experience, and additional certifications in UX/UI, User Interface Design, Typography, and Agile Methodologies.

If you want a unique and fun tutoring experience, I'm your guy! I tailor my teaching methods to each individual's needs, guiding students to efficiently solve unique art and design problems while gaining confidence and proficiency. Because some students are stronger at audio-visual learning and others are better at logic, reading, and memorization, I'm dedicated to finding the best way to help you learn.

Additionally, I have had the challenge of navigating life with ADHD, so I understand how hard it is to focus when lessons are boring or tedious. I want to help you find something meaningful and useful in our lessons and remind you that you've got what it takes to master anything you put your mind to. We'll get creative and build upon your existing skills, talents, and interests to expand your knowledge!

I also have experience in troubleshooting a wide range of issues on both Macintosh and Windows.

Since 2010, I have worked as a multimedia artist and designer for clients in small businesses and growing companies to create high-quality, eye-catching designs that speak for themselves. I earned a BFA in Animation and Interactive Design in 2014, and my professional expertise includes 2D and 3D concept art, graphic design for print and digital media, motion graphics for film and marketing, and interactive design such as web sites and educational presentations. I utilize industry-standard programs for all of my work, such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign to deliver a clean, professional product - on time, and on budget. For over 5 years, I worked as Creative Director for a local business to create and maintain all of their client-facing branding and marketing media, including logos, business cards, brochures, websites, and social media. I was also in charge of SEO for two desktop sites and two mobile sites, and I brought their search engine rankings from zero to the front page within the first month. I keep a project calendar on hand at all times, including when I last spoke with my clients, because I believe that prompt and clear communication is conducive to a successful project.

I am familiar enough with Macintosh computers to teach the basics of using one, including but not limited to keyboard shortcuts, customizing the interface, installing and removing programs, using the Terminal to make administrative changes, and using Mac-specific programs. As a multimedia artist and animator, I do most of my work on a Macintosh computer and have been using one since 2008.
Video Production

As part of my degree in animation, I have taken two college courses that focused solely on video art and film editing, and I have used video editing software for nearly every animation class I have taken. I am familiar with both Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro X, and some of my film pieces have won awards in exhibitions.

Above and beyond Amazing graphic designer, tutor, and person.

I really can't say enough great things about Adrian. He's a cut above the rest. Not only is he extremely talented at Designing in all the subjects he has tutored me in (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects) He has the most effective/creative way of teaching I have ever come across in all my years and years as a student. He couldn't be nicer, patient, generous, caring, and reassuring. He has been very adaptive to my learning style...He never raises an impatient tone if you need something repeated and he always keeps the lesson highly engaging and fun. He is also really resourceful and has a lot of great links to sites he has shared with me that have been very helpful references. Overall, I leave the lessons feeling more confident and with many more tools in my pocket & skills gained. If you leave a lesson still feeling discouraged that's a problem with the tutor, which I have experienced. With Adrian, I always leave encouraged and that's why he's my go to...You're the best!!!
