I am fully certified to teach English as a Second Language and love helping people become more confident in their English speaking abilities. I also have 6+ years of experience in academic and professional editing and am happy to help you become a stronger writer.

I graduated with a degree in Linguistics and English from UNC Chapel Hill, where I excelled in all of my classes and often helped my classmates understand course concepts. I have experience with one-on-one tutoring in a variety of subjects including English pronunciation, academic writing, linguistics, and introductory Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. As a former Jeopardy! contestant, I also have a strong grasp of general academic study skills and memorization techniques.

I love languages and strive to convey that passion to my students. My teaching style includes plenty of real-life examples and practice exercises, and I'm always ready to tailor my lessons to your learning needs.
