Hi! I’m Victoria, and I love helping students build confidence in science and math. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology from Stony Brook University, where I also minored in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. I bring experience teaching at both the college level and through one-on-one tutoring with younger learners, and I focus on making even the toughest concepts approachable.

Quick Highlights:

*College-Level Teaching: Served as a General Chemistry TA for two years, supporting classrooms of over 200 students. Led weekly review sessions and small-group problem-solving for 20–30 students at a time, where many improved their exam scores by 10–15 points.

*Graduate-Level Teaching: Worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Microbiology, guiding more than 100 students through labs, grading, and discussion sections. Students regularly shared that my color-coded diagrams and step-by-step explanations helped them master topics like bacterial genetics and metabolism.

*One-on-One Tutoring: Tutored over 50 elementary and middle school students in science and math. Helped a 7th grader raise a C average in math to an A– in one quarter, and supported other students in building strong study habits and greater confidence in STEM.

*Teaching Style: Visual and interactive, using diagrams, colors, and real-world examples to make abstract concepts clear. I also emphasize study strategies so students develop independence and long-term success.

I am currently applying to medical school, which reflects both my passion for science and my ability to excel under rigorous academics. Tutoring gives me the chance to share that passion while helping students grow, whether they are aiming to raise a grade, prepare for an exam, or feel more confident in STEM.

If you’re looking for a tutor with both college-level teaching experience and a proven record of supporting younger learners, I’d love to work with you!

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have four years of experience tutoring Algebra 1 for middle and high school students, typically working with at least 10 students each year. Many of my students began with grades in the 70s and, through consistent one-on-one sessions, were able to raise their grades into the 90s. For example, one 9th grader I worked with went from failing quizzes on linear equations to earning a 94% on her final exam after three months of weekly sessions. My approach is step-by-step and visual, using diagrams, color-coding, and real-world examples to make abstract concepts clear and manageable. My goal is to build both accuracy and confidence so students feel prepared for homework, tests, and future math courses.
Biochemistry

Biochemistry

As a biology major with coursework in biochemistry, molecular biology, and microbiology, I have developed a deep understanding of biochemical processes. I have experience tutoring peers in subjects like enzyme kinetics, metabolism, and molecular interactions, focusing on simplifying complex pathways into understandable steps. I like to use visual aids and analogies to connect abstract concepts to practical examples. My goal is to help students gain clarity and confidence when approaching challenging biochemical material.
Biology

Biology

I hold a B.S. in Biology from Stony Brook University, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude and served as a Teaching Assistant in General Chemistry and a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Microbiology. I have supported classrooms of over 200 students through lectures and review sessions, where many improved exam scores by 10–15 points, and I also have four years of one-on-one tutoring experience with middle school, high school, and college students. In AP Biology, I help students master topics such as evolution, genetics, and physiology with diagrams, color-coding, and practice questions modeled on the AP exam. At the college level, I draw on my lab and teaching experience to guide students through challenging material step by step, building both content mastery and confidence in their ability to think like biologists.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I earned A– or higher in all of my General Chemistry courses when working on my B.S in Biology, and later served as a Teaching Assistant for the subject. I created study guides, led review sessions for groups of 20–30 students, and worked one-on-one to explain topics from atomic structure and bonding to stoichiometry and thermodynamics. I also helped students strengthen the math side of chemistry, making problem-solving more approachable and building confidence along the way.
Creative Writing

Creative Writing

I’ve always loved writing, and in high school I was lucky enough to win the Morgan Library & Museum Teen Writing Contest and the New York State English Council Creative Writing Contest. In college, I carried that passion into a literary thesis on Coraline, where I explored how the film portrays childhood neglect and the psychological role of escapism. I also have experience writing in a scientific context, including a case review of HA20 haploinsufficiency that I’m currently working on. Because I’ve written everything from creative essays to in-depth research papers, I enjoy helping students not only improve their writing but also feel more confident and even excited about it.
Elementary Science

Elementary Science

I have several years of experience tutoring elementary and middle school students in general science. My sessions often covered everything from the basics of biology and earth science to simple chemistry and physics concepts. I focused on keeping lessons engaging and age-appropriate by using visuals, color-coding, and real-world examples that students could connect to their everyday lives. Beyond just teaching content, I helped students with homework, test prep, and building strong study habits. Many of my younger students started out unsure of themselves, but with encouragement and creative teaching strategies, I saw their confidence and curiosity for science grow.
Proofreading

Proofreading

I have extensive experience in proofreading and editing through my coursework, writing-intensive classes, and research reports. As a tutor, I focus on improving clarity, grammar, and structure while helping students maintain their unique voice. I guide students through revising their work, teaching them strategies to catch common mistakes and improve flow. My goal is to help students become more confident and independent writers while producing polished, professional work.
Spelling

Spelling

Through years of writing essays, research papers, and creative projects, I’ve developed strong spelling and proofreading skills. I’ve been recognized in writing competitions for the quality of my work, which reflects my precision with language. I also have experience tutoring students in writing and editing, helping them catch spelling mistakes while improving overall clarity. My approach focuses on building both accuracy and confidence in spelling.
